PERMANENT MAKEUP

FAQs

What is Permanent Make Up (PMU) ?

Permanent makeup, also known as micro pigmentation or cosmetic tattooing, involves applying pigment into the skin using a tattooing technique to create the appearance of makeup that lasts for an extended period. This procedure can be used for various purposes. The PMU services we offer at Body Haus are:

  • PMU Brows ( combination brows, nano powder brows, ombre brows)

  • Lip Blushing

  • Faux Freckles + Beauty Marks

Is permanent makeup safe?

When performed by a certified and experienced professional, permanent makeup is safe. It’s important to ensure the practitioner uses sterile tools and follows proper sanitation and hygiene protocols. Doing your research and choosing someone with more experience and credentials is usually the best option to ensure your experience is a safe one.

Permanent makeup practitioners also need to be working in a business that has their body art facility licensing so be sure to ask for those credentials when booking your appointment. This ensures the health department has been through and is making sure everything is to code, and they are following proper sanitation guidelines. This is still a tattoo, after all!

How long does it last?

Permanent makeup typically lasts between 2-4 years, but the duration can vary depending on several factors including:

  1. Skin Type - Oily skin tends to cause the pigment to fade more quickly than dry or normal skin.

2. Placement - Areas with more movement, such as the lips or eyes may cause the pigment to fade faster.

3. Sun Exposure - Regular exposure to the sun can cause pigment to break down more quickly, leading to faster fading.

4. Aftercare - Proper aftercare during the healing process can affect the longevity of the makeup. Not following aftercare instructions can lead to premature fading or uneven results.

5. Color & Technique - Lighter pigments may fade faster than darker ones, and specific techniques used (e.g., microblading vs powder brows) can impact how long the makeup lasts.

Touch ups are usually required every 12-18 months to maintain pigment saturation.

How long does the procedure take?

The procedure can take anywhere from 1-4 hours, depending on the area being treated. This includes the tine for numbing, discussing pigment colors, and designing.

What should I expect during recovery?

After the procedure, you may experience some swelling, redness and tenderness. The treated area typically darkens, scabs over, and flakes off as it heals. The healing process typically takes 7-14 days and touch ups are required within 6-8 weeks to finish the procedure.

PMU Services

$300 | Lip Blushing

Lip blushing is a semi permanent cosmetic procedure that enhances the natural color and shape of the lips. It involves the use of a tattoo machine to deposit pigment into the lips, creating a subtle tent and definition. The procedure can improve lip symmetry, correct and even Towns, and give the appearance of Fuller lips. Results typically last anywhere from 1 to 3 years, depending on the skin type and after care. It is a more natural alternative to traditional lip, tattoos with a focus on a soft/gradient affect rather than a solid bold color.

$475 |Combination Brow

Combination brow is a hybrid technique that combines two popular eyebrow enhancement methods: Microblading and Powder Brows.

  • Microblading involves creating fine, hair-like strokes with a hand held tool to mimic the natural appearance of eyebrow hairs

  • Powder Brows Uses a machine to apply a soft, powdered effect, giving a more filled in, soft makeup look to the brows.

    $450 |Nano Powder Brow

Nano powder brow uses all machine shading, starting at the tail end being the darkest and gradually lightens at the beginning of the brow giving them a pixelated/ makeup like appearance. This style heals into a soft, beautifully defined brow.

$65 | 6-8 Week Touch Up

Each initial appointment requires a touch up in order to be considered complete. This touch up will finalize your cosmetic enhancement and fix / adjust any minor imperfections that can often happen during the healing from your first session. It is normal for there to be “blotchy” areas where pigment may of not retained at all. This is why the touch up is mandatory in order for your PMU service to be complete.

$150 |Yearly Color Boost

It is recommended about every year or so to freshen up and maintain the pigment in your PMU brows. This service is reserved for those who have had their initial permanent makeup services done by a provider of Body Haus. We recommend to wait until your brows have approximately 50-40% of their pigment left before you schedule this appointment. We do not want to deposit pigment too often into the brows, this can often lead to pmu makeup looking like a solid tattoo, and not fine line strokes, or pixelated.

$100 Deposits are required at the time of booking in order to secure your initial microblading or lip blushing appointment. This deposit is non refundable and goes toward the total cost of your service. Please call or email to set up your Microblading Appointment, or for any other questions.
